A quick post to keep everyone updated on what’s going on at the club & on the water.
Last weekend saw the annual Dee SC & West Kirby SC Regattas held under fabulous conditions, with a great turn out of boats. Many thanks to West Kirby for hosting a great event on the Saturday!
See below for a message from Commodore & Regatta Race Officer James.
I hope every one enjoyed the regatta , we were blessed with beautiful weather and a steady wind, all the food was consumed and the bar drunk dry.
I think we can say it was a success, I have had a number of thanks from visitors and compliments regarding the club refurb.
Many thanks to all who helped on the rescue teams and Andrew Potter RO for the dinghies, also thanks Dave C and all the team on the land, we are all very grateful.
Thanks to Tom for the pictures
Low Water Racing
This Sunday we will be heading out to Hoyle Bank for the first of our planned Low Water Racing events.
The plan for this will be to sail out to Hilbre on the last of the tide, then hold a series of short races, with a picnic lunch, before cruising back under the afternoon flood.
Details are as follows:
- Leave the causeway (EARLY!) at 07:15
- 3 short morning races
- Lunch on the sand bank & fun on the water
- 3 short afternoon races
- Sail back around 15:00
- All fleets are welcome
- Ensure you bring plenty to eat & drink, as there won’t be an organised bar or BBQ
- Food, drinks & spare clothes (in dry bags) can be transported on ribs
Anyone who would like to walk out & join us later in the day will be able to get a rib taxi across to the sand bank from Hilbre.
Phone the club mobile on 07977 867445 to arrange pick up on the day.
Saturday Catamaran Coaching
James will be running Cat Coaching on Saturday for either Dart 16’s or 18’s.
The plan will be to meet at 14:15, for few hours on the water, expect to be finished and packed away around 18:00.
Please email me on email@example.com if you would like to attend, then we can plan the session.
Have a great weekend sailing!
